The Museum, located on the East side of the
historic Fassett Building, incorporates early modes of
transportation used in the San Luis Valley
from the floor of the valley to the mining camps. |
Looking for something different in a museum? Visit
the Transportation of the West Museum in Monte Vista located in the San
Luis Valley of southern Colorado.
The location is on Highway 160 at
916 First Avenue, with two entrances -- one on the north side, another
through the coffee shop of Collections West at the corner of First and
Adams.
Items on display include those of the horse and buggy days,
the 1880s-1900s railroad, farming, sports, and numerous
photographs.
